Dillerarası Etkileşim: Çokdilli Ortamlarda Sözdizimsel Gelişim ve Nesne Düşürme

Abstract

Son yıllarda dil edinimi alanında gerek ikidilli gerekse üçdilli veya çok dilli bireylerle yapılan çalışmaların pek çoğunun

‘diller arası etkileşim’ olgusuna odaklandığı görülmektedir (bknz. Hulk ve Müller, 2000; Serratrice, Sorace ve Paoli, 2004;

Cenoz, 2003). Üçüncü dil ediniminde diller arası tipolojik yakınlık, dilleri edinim sırası, dil yeterliliği vb. etkenler son

yıllarda sıkça tartışılan konular arasında yer almaktadır (bknz. Cenoz, 2003; Bardel & Falk, 2010; Flynn, Foley &

Vmnitskaya, 2004; Iverson, 2010; Rothman, 2010). Bu çalışma kapsamında 1. dili Türkçe (D1), 2. dili İngilizce (D2), 3. dili

İtalyanca olan yetişkinlerde, bu üç dilin farklılık gösterdiği nesne durumundaki adılların düşürülmesi olgusu incelenmiştir.

Veriler, orta ve ileri düzeyde üçüncü dil olarak İtalyanca öğrenen 22 katılımcıdan, yazılı olarak İtalyanca dialog tamamlama

ve bağlam tamamlama etkinliği yaptırılarak elde edilmiştir. Önbulgular, katılımcıların 1. Dil olan Türkçedeki nesneleri

düşürme eğilimlerini, sözdizimsel olarak mümkün olmadığı halde D3 Italyancada belirli oranlarda gösterdiğini ortaya

koymuştur. Bununla birlikte, nesne görevindeki adılları sözdizimsel olarak 2. dildeki sıralamayla kullanan az sayıda

katılımcıya özgü veri de elde edilmiştir. Bu bulgular, Tipolojik Yakınlık Modeli (Rothman ve Cabrelli Amaro, 2010) ile

uyumlu olup, 3. dil ediniminde hem 1. hem de 2. dilin diller arası etkileşimde etkili olabileceğini ve bu geçişin her zaman

amaç dildeki yapıyla benzerlik göstermeyebileceğini, algılanan ya da var olan tipolojik yakınlığın dil geçişinde belirleyici

faktör olabileceğini göstermiştir.
