Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement1


About the journal

  • Dilbilim Araştırmaları Dergisi (DAD)/Journal of Linguistics Research (JLR) is a peer-reviewed journal. The main goal of the journal is to support the development of research in general linguistics in Turkey by encouraging contributions of high scientific quality. 

  • The journal does not require a particular theoretical orientation and it does not commit itself to a specific area of linguistics.


Authors and Authors’ responsibilities

  • Authors are responsible of submitting original research and follow the style sheet provided on the journal’s website.

  • Authors should not submit papers that are already published or under review for another journal.

  • All authors contribute significantly to the published work.

  • Authors properly acknowledge others’ works and any publication that has been influential or informative in shaping the ideas in the manuscript.

  • Authors should not use confidential information such as information obtained in reviewing manuscripts or grant applications unless they have explicitly mentioned permission to do so.

  • Authors should not cite information obtained from personal communication with others unless they have permission, which is explicitly mentioned in the manuscript.

  • Any financial support should be disclosed including grant number.


Human subjects

  • If the work involves human subjects, authors are responsible of getting institutional ethics committee approval.

  • Authors should provide an explicit statement explaining that informed consent has been obtained from human participants and the participants’ rights have been observed.


Peer review process

  • All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer-review process and an editorial decision based on objective judgment.

  • Each submission is assessed by the editor for suitability for the journal and then sent to two expert reviewers.

  • Editors are responsible for seeking reviewers who do not have conflict of interest with the authors.

  • Reviewed articles are treated confidentially.

  • Authors have the responsibility of responding to the reviewers’ comments promptly and cooperatively, in a point-by-point manner.


Publication ethics

  • The editors are responsible of enhancing the quality of the journal and supporting the authors in their effort to produce high quality research. Under no conditions do they allow plagiarism or scientific misconduct.

  • Papers submitted to Dilbilim Araştırmaları Dergisi are screened for plagiarism using the iThenticate plagiarism detection tool. In case the editors become aware of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, they take the necessary steps. The editors have the right to retract an article.

  • The editors are willing to publish errata, retractions or apologies when needed.

  • Since 2015, Dilbilim Araştırmaları Dergisi has been following the Open Access Model. The articles accepted to appear in the journal are made freely available to the public via the journal’s website.

  • There are no fees or charges required for manuscript processing and/or publishing materials in the journal’s website.


Copyright and Access

  • The author accepts that the publisher of DAD/JLR holds and retains the copyright of the published articles. 

  • It is the author’s responsibility to obtain permission to include images, figures, etc. to appear in the article.


Publishing schedule

Dilbilim Araştırmaları Dergisi is published twice a year, in spring and fall.
